My interest in wood began in my father's shed in Edinburgh before I was ten but it was not till my late twenties that I began to think in terms of a career. In 1984 I went to Rycotewood to study in depth and to begin the slow business of mastering the skills that make up this beautiful craft. Everything was done by hand in a way that is rarely taught now and I slowly became grounded in the disciplines. These are vital to a flexible way of working that responds both to the needs of the client and the particular nature of each project and material.
Commissions and Exhibitions
While most of my work is by commission I have exhibited in several shops in London and in Oxfordshire Artweeks 2007 and 2008 as well as a winter Art Exhibition at Chipping Norton Town Hall.
